DSV Adams Challenge Contract Won
(2/9/2008) MES have been awarded a contract working with Astilleros Balenciaga to supply and fit the integrated bridge equipment onboard Adams Offshore newest vessel the DSV Adams Challenge. The vessel will be a dynamically positioned diesel electric powered multi role offshore support vessel with a dual redundant dynamic positioning system configured to and suitable for supporting a wide range of offshore support activities.

Selected for diversity and interest, the following are examples of the major turnkey projects type of work undertaken:

Offshore Patrol Vessels LE Roisin and LE Niamh. Complete navigation and communications fit to the forward thinking Irish Naval Service’s exacting standards. Brimming with mainly commercial off the shelf equipment (with a mixture of military and custom built systems) these ships have raised a lot of interest with foreign Navies.

Petrol Vessels

Following on from the success of the Irish Naval Vessels, MES was awarded a contract by VT Shipbuilding Ltd. (formerly Vosper Thornycroft Ltd). For the supply and installation of the electronics package for 3 River Class FOPV (Future Offshore Patrol Vessel) for the Royal Navy.

HMS Endurance, MES was awarded a contract by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide lead design services for a major navigation equipment refit on board and to subsequently supply and install all systems.

considerable experience in this specialised field.

LCU MK10, Landing Craft Utility for the Royal Marines. A contract to supply and install the navigation equipment on 10 of these vessels was awarded to MES by BAE Systems Ltd.

MV Coruisk Caledonian MacBrayne double ended Ferry meeting stringent passenger RO/RO regulations. This vessel had a MES designed changeover switch to change the ships heading 180 degrees to all navigation equipment to suit direction of movement.

Sail Training Ships ‘Stavros S Niarchos’, 'Prince William’ and Tenacious’. These presented a unique set of problems - how to install aerials in compliance with current legislation when the remit was to keep rigging wholly inkeeping with the traditions of a bygone age.
