Public Address Systems

The Public Address System is now a mandatory carriage requirement on new ships and MES has designed and installed many different types on different ships. A passenger ship PA system has to meet stringent requirements in terms of redundancy in amplifiers, dual speaker loops, short circuit protection, sound pressure levels at the pillow etc. Whereas a cargo ship really only needs a system whereby the command can address the crew at muster points to give them situation reports and orders in an emergency. MES will build PA systems suit both ends of the spectrum applying a sensible approach to the numbers of speakers and locations and other related matters. Often our systems are derived from the industrial rather than marine market where cost savings can be made with no compromise on quality.
